Tasting- Chateau Serres Sainte Lucie Corbieres

Name: Chateau Serres Sainte Lucie Corbieres
 Variety: Syrah, Grenache, and Mourverde
Region: Corbieres
Country: France
Year: 2010
 Price: $4.95

Winery review: Superb dark garnet color with a few reflections of dark orange. Intense nose of ripe fruits, spices, and roasted coffee. The palate is rounded and full, with silky matured tannins and hints of vanilla. This wine is rich and powerful with layers of tannins.
My review: This wine had a peculiar nose.  I got a musty scent, almost a moldy, wet clothing in a gym bag kinda deal.  Then tasting I got a very smooth, kinda of sour flavor.  It was tart on the finish and the alcohol was right there in your face.  Overall it was a good balance.  I would consider trying this wine again at a later date.

This wine was tasted on its own with no food.
